Back to the bedroom by Janet Evanovich

Kategori: Chick-lit, Contemporary, Fighting crimes

I guess that, by now, you understand how much I enjoy reading books by Evanovich!

This book is the first in a stand-alone series before the Stephanie Plum era! With the model for the gun-toting Grandma Mazur, Evanovich here gives us Elsie, tired-of-the-retirement-home-and-grilling-burgers.
The story itself focalises on the professionall cellist Kat Finn and her in-between-jobs neighbour David Dodd, and starts with a bang. Quite literally.

Having been living next to each other for a couple of months, without getting to know each other, David comes running when parts of a helicopter comes crashing through the roof in Kat's house, and helps her get through the juggling act she has between fixing her house, letting Elsie move in and playing concertos. Throw in some maybe-robbers, hard-core bingo playing, a drug-den further down the streets, and a high-speed car chase! And maybe some romance, too.

It is as hilarious a read as you'd expect from Evanovich, and even though you're not up to starting a series with 20-something (and counting) books, like that of Stephanie Plum, you still can enjoy this short novel!
