Athena, the goddess of wisdom is dying. Well, she and everyone of the other gods from Ancient Greece are suddenly overcome by mortality. Athena and Hermes, he too suffering from this weird condition, start out on a quest to try to put an end to their deaths, meeting with Hera and the rest of the Olympians trying to eradicate every rival in an attempt to prolong their own lives, and finding out that Cassandra, the profetess from Delphi could help. The only problem is that Cassandra has no idea at all that gods exist. In a race against death, the Goddess War is about to begin.
Me loving almost everything about Greek mythology really enjoyed this book. Blake puts a new and modern twist to the myths, making the gods mortal and scrabbling to attain their old immortality. Who will win?
