Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger
Kategori: Historical fiction

Sophronia has always liked to dismantle things, wanting to know how things work. Being a nuisance to her family, her mother jumps at the opportunity of her going to finishing school -- and not destroying her older sister Petunias coming-out ball.
What her mother doesn't know is that this finishing school puts the emphasis on the finishing part, being a school for female spies in-training. Not only learning how to properly curtsy and how to do the quadrille, they also learn how to portion out poison so that only half of ones guests die. This first year should be very interesting!
I have mentioned this series in my first post on Carrigers books, which you can find here. This series, being set about fifty years befor the story arc about Alexia Tarabotti, is a mix of proper etiquette, silliness and tie-ins to the first series. Many a thing about the world of Alexia becomes clear after reading this. So, go read, do!
